Knowledgeable Bel Air Tax Law Attorneys Guide You Toward a Profitable Solution

Handling a range of tax issues for individuals, families and businesses

Tax issues can be potentially devastating to your personal, professional and business life. Whether you run into legal problems with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or are simply paying too much on your taxes, these issues won’t go away on their own. At Stark and Keenan, P.A., our team of experienced attorneys provides comprehensive legal services and representation for tax law issues involving wills & estates, real property and personal property matters. We work quickly to solve your problems and reduce your costs. If you are currently dealing with a tax issue in the Baltimore area, our attorneys have the necessary knowledge and experience to get you results.

A broad knowledge of estate tax issues

When your loved one dies and leaves you an inheritance attached to an estate, you will be taxed heavily on the money you receive. In addition, Maryland has instituted an estate tax of up to 16 percent above a $1 million exemption and a 10 percent inheritance tax on certain family members. This is in addition to federal taxes you may owe as well. The amount of taxes you will have to pay on an inheritance or an estate can be devastating, but our attorneys make sure that you won’t have to pay any more than is necessary.

Our attorneys have an extensive knowledge of Maryland’s tax laws. They are committed to making your estate and inheritance as profitable as possible. While drafting your estate, we find different ways to work around crippling taxes by setting up gifts and other plans for family members. These measures help reduce the money they will owe.

Dedicated personal and real property tax attorneys

Businesses and individuals are all required to file taxes on any personal or real property that they own. Our firm guides clients through a range of issues, including capital gains real estate tax cases, to make sure the amount they pay each year is in accordance with state and federal law. In addition to making sure you are not paying more than you should, our attorneys help you reassess your property to find the true value of what you own. This can help reduce your tax rate.
